WORLD'S SCHOLAR CUP

My friends and I decided to take part in a debate competition called World Scholar Cup where students from multiple schools meet up and debate. World Scholar Cup lasts for 2 days and includes debating, scholar rounds, and

HENNA FOR A CAUSE

Every year there is a small event called MIXED UP! that takes place in one of the other International schools in Bangkok, NIST. MIXED UP! is a funding raising event where students  join together for a night of awesome music. All proceeds from Mixed Up! goes to Love Wildlife Foundation’s Slow Loris program. One of the clubs from my school, LOVE OCEAN LIFE, held a booth in this event where we sold cupcakes and drew henna. I was one of the henna artists and had the wonderful opportunity to explore my henna skills!

HIKING (80,000 STEPS)

In my December breaks, my family decided to take a trip to my grandfather's home village. Near the village there was this huge mountain where my cousins and my mum went to take a hike! We started hiking at 4 am in the morning and reached the top of the mountain around 12 am. It was super tiring but the view of walking up the mountains with the sunrise was so worth it.

GARBA 2018

Every year in mid-October to mid-November, Indians who celebrate Navarati (traditional festival) come together for a dance event of Garba. Garba is a traditional dance originated from Gujrat, India. The dance event starts from 8 pm and lasts to 6 am in the morning. Everyone dances with full energy swaying to the beat of the music. My friends and I wait all year long for this event! Everyone dresses up in colourful traditional skirts and blouse which is then accessoried with authentic silver jewellery.

ANIMAL SANCTUARY TRIP

Animal sanctuary trip was organised by one of our most passionate animal activist teacher. She brought us to this huge animal sanctuary farm which is taken care by a young Thai lady. In this trip I got to know about animals that were rescued from slaughtering houses and cow beauty pageant contest. This trip was an eye opening trip where I was exposed to the dark side of animal cruelty. This was one of those reality checks that was much needed.
